Travis Koster |

Education Director

Travis is a graduate of Antioch University, an educator and film producer living in Pasadena CA. Originally from Seattle WA, Travis loves music, traveling, cooking and spending time with his wife, son and brindle boxer. His favorite film is “The Shining”. Travis Co-founded Cherry Street Films 9 years ago with his wife Kanani. Their mission: to bring equitable digital storytelling curriculum to classrooms in the Pacific NW and beyond.

Kanani Koster | Creative Director

Kanani Koster is a Kanaka Maoli director based in PDX//LAX and a ‘24 American Film Institute Directing Fellow. She has spoken on numerous panels on race, diversity and representation in film as well as serving as a judge for the 2022 Big Sky Documentary Film Festival. Kanani is the 2020 Oregon Made Film Grant winner for the docu-short, Any Oregon Sunday, and a 2020 Portland Arts Museum Re:Imagined Artist recipient.

Journey Morrison | Registrar / Manager

Journey Morrison is Cherry Street Films' Program Manager and Registrar, and hails from North Bend, Washington. He is a graduate of Western Washington University with a BA in History and a minor in Film Studies. Journey has worked as at NW Film Camp since its infancy, with a passion for inspiring youth to use creativity as a medium for change in the world. Since his university graduation he has also worked on a variety of different short film and music video projects in the greater Seattle area.

Stephanie Ward-Harvey | Project Manager

Stephanie Ward-Harvey is a writer, director, artist and a 2022 graduate from Western Washington University with a BA in theatre and creative writing. Born and raised in the PNW, she currently resides in Vancouver, WA. When she isn't coming up with cool films, she is petting her cats, sipping chai tea, playing video games and doodling on her IPad. She has a passion for storytelling in all forms but her favorite films currently are "Alien" and "Everything Everywhere All At Once." Her goal is to encourage positive growth and creativity in the classroom while having tons of fun! 

Foteini Jacobson |

Project Manager - Seattle

Tina is an editor, she also makes direct animation 16mm films. Documentaries of her earlier work have screened at the Seattle Social Justice Film Festival in 2014 and 2016. During covid she created videos for remote learning for the UW Farm. Her scholarly work is on documentary cinema. She likes gardening at her p-patch, swimming, and hiking.

Zoe Rogan |

Instructor - Seattle

Zoe is a graduate of Seattle University, majoring in Creative Writing with a minor in Film. Her writing spans several mediums, including short stories, plays, scripts, and longform fiction. Her passions are film history and analysis, along with writing fiction. Other than watching and writing about movies, she likes to spend her free time hanging out with dogs and cats, reading, and debating the subtext of whatever film she's most recently watched. She is so excited to help young filmmakers bring their ideas to fruition!

Will Voves |

Lead Instructor - Portland

Hi! I’m Will. I’m a graduate of Western Washington University where I worked as the head video production coordinator. I’ve been a freelance editor for over ten years and have work on national commercials and television productions. Currently I work in broadcasting for the Portland Timbers. I love every aspect of film production, but my favorite has to be editing, especially VFX and compositing. I’m so excited to foster students’ creativity and hopefully inspire the next generation of filmmakers!

Donijah Collier | Lead

Instructor - Bend/Boise

Donijah Collier is from New Haven, Connecticut. After moving to Chicago, Illinois to study at Columbia College Chicago, he then graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Cinema and Television Arts with a concentration in Cinematography. He is currently studying at AFI (American Film Institute) Conservatory as a Cinematography Fellow. Collier has realized the importance of reinventing the types of stories that are being told today. He aspires to tell diverse new narratives that will influence, and impact our society emotionally, culturally, politically as well as socially, through his unique visual storytelling.

Casey Fleming | Lead Instructor - Kirkland

Originally from Bellevue, WA, Casey (they/she) currently attends the University of Southern California and is pursuing a dual degree in Narrative Studies and Themed Entertainment. Passionate about writing, production and sound, they often try to combine these interests across a myriad of creative mediums--playwriting, poetry, short film, audio drama, video games, you name it. They also love weaving folkloric and historical inspiration into the stories they tell; recent particular interests include Celtic Mythology and the Golden Age of Piracy. Casey can't wait to meet, help and grow alongside the next generation of creatives!

Charlie Embre | Lead Instructor - Vancouver

Charlie is a film student about to start his fourth year. His favorite things to do in film are editing, script supervising, and writing. When he’s not doing things related to film, Charlie’s hobbies include studying Hebrew, playing guitar, and pacing around in circles. Counterclockwise. As an older brother & uncle of many, he takes interest in working with children and listening to what they have to say.

Aaron Ellis  | Lead Instructor - Seattle

Aaron is a Southern California transplant who has been in love with Film and Television since he could walk. After majoring in Media Studies at the University of San Francisco, Aaron went to continue his learning at Chapman University, a step that helped him begin working in the freelance production world. He’s worked in a multitude of positions and projects ranging from webseries’ to commercials, to feature films. As a new member of the team, Aaron is very excited to pass along as much knowledge as he can, and to help the students in this phase of their journey into film!
