Camp Policies & Safety
At NW Film Camp, our goal is to provide a safe, creative, and welcoming environment where young filmmakers can learn, collaborate, and grow. The following policies help ensure a positive experience for all campers.
Safety & Supervision
Student safety is our highest priority. Campers are supervised by trained instructors and staff throughout the day during classes, activities, breaks, and film productions. All instructors are vetted and background checked.
While students are encouraged to work independently and develop leadership skills, staff members remain available to provide guidance, support, and supervision at all times.
Behavior Expectations
NW Film Camp is built on creativity, teamwork, and respect.
Campers are expected to:
Treat fellow students, instructors, and facilities with respect.
Participate positively in group projects and activities.
Follow instructor directions and camp safety guidelines.
Use equipment responsibly. Wash hand before use.
Refrain from bullying, harassment, disruptive behavior, or inappropriate language.
Students who repeatedly violate camp expectations may be removed from camp at the discretion of NW Film Camp staff.
Physical contact is not allowed. Failure to follow this rule may result in explosion from camp
Bathroom Policy
Campers may use the restroom whenever needed. We encourage students to notify an instructor before leaving an activity.
Younger campers may be asked to use the buddy system.
Staff supervise for safety while respecting camper privacy.
Staff do not enter restroom stalls except when assistance is requested or in an emergency.
Campers are expected to use restrooms respectfully and report any concerns to staff.
Technology & Equipment
NW Film Camp provides professional filmmaking equipment, software, and production tools for student use.
Students are expected to:
Handle equipment carefully.
Follow all equipment instructions.
Use technology only for camp-related activities.
Respect shared workspaces and resources.
Families are encouraged to leave valuable personal items at home.
Health & Wellness
Parents should inform camp staff of any medical conditions, allergies, or accommodations before camp begins.
If a camper becomes ill or injured during camp, parents or guardians will be contacted as soon as possible.
Food & Personal Belongings
Campers should bring:
A lunch
Water bottle
Any necessary medications
A positive attitude and creative spirit
Students may bring approved props or costumes for film projects but should leave valuables at home.
Photo & Video Participation
As a filmmaking camp, students may appear in photos, videos, behind-the-scenes footage, and completed film projects created during camp. Participation is subject to parent consent provided during registration.
Registration, Transfers & Credits
Camp registrations are non-refundable but may be transferred to another available session, subject to camp policies. Please contact NW Film Camp if you need to change your enrollment.
